Anxiety/Panic Disorder

This is the kind of disorder that brings on unexpected attacks that paralyze you with fear for no apparent reason. Of course there are unknown factors that cause these attacks but the sufferer seldom understands what those causes are without the professional help of a family physician or a clinical specialist who are trained to cope with this type of disorder.

The most ordinary symptoms of the attacks are dizziness, feeling faint, increased breathing, pounding heart, tingling or numbing sensations in the hands and feet, feeling of imminent doom, a disconnection with reality or a total lack of control.

Using a few simple techniques can help cure panic attacks during public speaking. Most people are affected with shyness at some point in their life. Very few people feel comfortable being at the center of attention and find it a nerve-racking experience. For some, being in front of others can conjure up extreme feelings of fear and embarrassment.

Fears of being embarrassed and severe anxiousness around others; these are common characteristics of social phobia. Even though it has been recognized as one of the most common anxiety disorders, most sufferers remain undiagnosed. Most adults who suffer from social anxiety have developed it from childhood. Social anxiety in children can develop from repeated ridicule, criticism, rejection and other such negative conditioning.

How To Cure Fears

If you are afraid, you’re afraid, right? Fear is something which you feel. It’s simply there, and logical thought just doesn’t seem to be strong enough to banish the instinctive and debilitating symptoms of fear. Most often you know that your fear is illogical, and yet this knowledge doesn’t help one iota.

If you suffer a fear of any description you have probably tackled it in various ways. Most people with a fear of heights, for instance, approach their fear primarily by avoidance. If you don’t go “up there” you won’t be afraid. But there are many times when you would dearly like to be able to climb up to the top of whatever landmark it may be, or to drive over a bridge, or to use a ski lift.

Introducing Nlp – Fast Phobia Cure

Spiders, snakes, heights, confined spaces, flying, thunderstorms or even public speaking — everyone knows someone who has a phobia. Maybe you’re a sufferer yourself. The Collins English Dictionary defines a phobia as an ‘abnormal, intense and irrational fear of a given situation, organism or object’. Typical symptoms include dizziness, heart palpitations and a sense of terror. When the stimulus appears — sometimes it only needs to be thought of — the person responds automatically with a strong physical reaction. Some phobias can be hard to live with many limit people in what they can do.

There are various schools of opinion on how phobias are formed but NLP has no real interest in causes. The main focus of NLP therapy is on how problems are handled in the present. The event itself has long since passed into the mists of time, so it must be the way the person is representing it internally that’s causing the difficulty. When they’re exposed to whatever makes them phobic they associate back to a picture they have of the e memory, and experience all of the emotion again. It is a Visual (V) to Kinaesthetics (K).

Here is how to use NLP fast phobia cure technique:
- Imagine you’re watching a TV!
- In your hand there is a remote that you can use to play any movie, stop it, fast forward it, rewind it and pause it whenever you want.
- It’s important to tell yourself that you are one hundred percent safe in the movie and you are free to view any part of your life without needing to be scared, shy or guilty.
- Imagine yourself floating out of your body and towards the projector in the back.
- The next step is to imagine yourself using the remote control to play a movie on the screen. This movie will be of a time when the phobia is in full effect.
- If you feel scared, then simply stop there and start all over again from the beginning. This time try to go beyond the point at which you stopped the first time.
- Once you have watched the entire film, the next step is to rewind the movie and watch it at normal speed, then at a faster speed, and then an even faster speed. Once you are comfortable with watching the film at super high speeds, the next step would be to watch the film backwards a few times.
-While you are doing this imagine the film becoming smaller and smaller until it is the size of a postage stamp.
- Open your eyes and test the results by thinking of a phobia – a situation that would normally scare you.
