Hi,I am good at writing in english but get tensed while speaking on

telephone, generally I get stuck and unable to respond properly.

Say for eg if they ask when can you join our company,I simply say whenever they wish whereas I would like to know from them details regarding when actually a position for such is required and explaining my present job responsibilties which i have to get relieved. But for ease sake I just come up with that answer.
My main problem is enlish speaking phobia on telephone,I just cant
respond properly.What should I do?

I am a college sophomore studying Public Relations and although I consider myself an excellent writer, an outgoing person and extremely creative, I am not the best public speaker. I know those in P.R. are often required to address the press but is having a fear a public speaking enough of a reason to change my career path? I’m articulate but I have the hardest time not sounding like a fumbling mess when adressing a crowd. THANKS!

How to cope with social phobia?

I have social phobia, it is not too severe but really annoying. I am 16 and in high school (Junior), and everytime a teacher calls my name my heart starts to race and if I have to speak my voice shakes. Then if I talk to freinds I usually am quiet at school because there are too many people around. At home I am crazy and if I have freinds over I still am myself at home as well. I blush a lot as well, and get very nervous over stupid things. I hate presentations for this reason.

Social phobia has actually made me think about thinks such as: Having kids. I know don’t want kids because I know that I will have to speak at their weddings. I don’t want to get married because I hate being the center of attention. My jobs are based on my problem as well, I try doing things that don’t involve a lot of people interactions in large crowds. I am outgoing when I am alone with that person, and usually am cool and persuasive. Can anyone help me stop or hide these symptoms?

Ever since I moved to the US, I’ve had a tremendous fear of public speaking. Almost 10 years later, this fear is still hunting me–shaping my life as I try to avoid it.

I’m a member of a local Toastmasters club. The practice does help. But for some reason, the fear is still there. Since I started, I’ve become so accustomed to the audience there, that it stopped being a challenge. However, every time I even think about speaking at work, my hands would sweat.

I know how important it is for my future to reduce the fear.
However, there are so many methods out there that I’m just confused at this point as to which one I should try. If you have personal experience in this area, please let me know what is the best way to reduce this fear. Thank you

Public Speaking Etiquette?

Presentation Etiquette?
Where can i learn more about proper mannerisms and such for public speaking?

So tomorrow I have to read a short story I wrote in front of my classmates, in a 10th grade english class. It’s big, and I know a few people in it, but the problem is MY VOICE DOESN’T CARRY. And before you hit the answer button and say speak louder, don’t take me as an ignorant person. I have tried, and it hurts. I’ve talked myself hoarse and people still can’t hear. I was talking about it to my mom and the clinking of her putting a stovepot top away droned out my voice. It’s just pathetic. I need tips on how to:
a] Overcome fear of speaking in public
b] How to speak loud enough without becoming a mute
c] How to control a class of 32 while reading.

Please give me some help here, I’m dreading it.
